Finding Your Alter Ego: Unleash the Badass Within
Ever feel like you’re living someone else’s script? Like the world expects you to play a specific part—and you’re just not that person? Me too. That’s why I created Trixie Unfiltered™, the space where we ditch the masks and let our fiercest, most authentic selves shine. Today, we’re diving into one of my favorite topics: how to find—and rock—your very own alter eg
Why You Need an Alter Ego
Break free from limitations. Your everyday persona carries all the baggage: self-doubt, people-pleasing, and a pile of “shoulds” on top of “shoulds.” Your alter ego? She doesn’t care what anyone thinks.
Tap into hidden strengths. Maybe you’re soft-spoken in meetings but a powerhouse on stage. Your alter ego bridges the gap between who you are and who you aspire to be.
Boost confidence on demand. Interviews, presentations, tough conversations—summon your alter ego and watch imposter syndrome evaporate
Step 1: Give Her a Name (and Honor the Origin)
Names carry power, and mine has a story to tell. One day, a new friend met me and blurted, “You look like a TRIXIE, not a Traci!” Just like that, the legend was born. Your alter ego’s name should:
Resonate with you. It might be inspired by a moment, a compliment, or a hidden part of your personality.
Feel distinct. When you say it, you should feel a spark, as if you're calling on a superhero version of yourself.
Step 2: Define Her Superpowers
What qualities does your alter ego embody? List 3–5 traits that you admire:
Fearless. No challengeis too big.
Charismatic. Own the room with magnetic energy.
Relentless. Obstacles only fuel her fire.
Compassionate. Strength with a soft heart.
Write each trait on a sticky note and post it where you’ll see it daily.
Step 3: Craft Her Look & Feel
Visual cues are powerful triggers for your brain. Maybe your alter ego rocks:
A bold lip color (hot pink, crimson, gold).
A signature accessory (statement necklace, leather jacket, glittery hat).
A power pose (hands on hips, chin up, shoulders back).
Next time you need to channel her, slip on that lip color or drape on that jacket—it’s like suiting up for battle.
Step 4: Develop Her Origin Story
Every hero has a backstory that fuels their journey. Yours might start with that offhand compliment from a friend:
“When Amy saw me in that leather jacket and told me, ‘You’re a Trixie,’ I felt seen for the first time. That moment lit a fire under me to show up—fully unapologetic—as my boldest self.”
Tell that story daily to reaffirm your potential.
Step 5: Practice, Practice, Practice
Your alter ego doesn’t magically appear—she’s built with intention:
Visualization drills. Spend 2–3 minutes each morning imagining yourself as your alter ego navigating the day.
Power moments. Before a nerve-wracking event, tap your fist on your chest, take three deep breaths, and speak her name. Feel the shift.
Post-action reflection. After stepping into her shoes, jot down what went well. Celebrate—even small wins.
Bringing It All Together
Finding your alter ego isn’t about impersonation—it’s about unlocking parts of yourself that have been waiting for release. She is the most authentic, fiercest expression of your values, strengths, and dreams.
So call her name, suit up, and let the world see the real you—unfiltered, glittering, and unstoppable.
